We’re thrilled to announce that Padel People is now open at Hybrid Fitness in Wimbledon, and it has been an incredibly enjoyable journey! Over the weekend, we reached an impressive 95% capacity, and everyone who has come in is having an amazing time.
We love the indoor setting. Despite the allure of playing outside in the sun, we firmly believe that the indoor environment offers a more authentic experience, free from rain, wind, or glare. With a warm atmosphere, coffee available, a social/work space, and exceptional staff on-site, we can provide our players with a truly luxurious experience.
While we’re currently going through planning for our next three locations, we are gaining valuable insights from our customer base. James and I have had enlightening conversations with the players, discovering interesting aspects of their padel experiences.
Here’s what we’ve learned:
- The majority of our players have played abroad, primarily in Spain, Portugal, and South Africa. The growing popularity of padel in South Africa has caught our attention, must do a visit there soon! They are all desperate to play in London so the more courts here the better for the sport.
- Finding suitable partners can be challenging. We were aware of this before opening, but it emphasizes the need for owners and professionals to take a proactive approach in ensuring that four players of similar skill levels can play together. Coaching sessions and WhatsApp groups have proven helpful, but nothing beats face-to-face interaction.
- Many gym members either have no knowledge of padel or have never seen it before. For avid gym-goers, finding time for another sport can be difficult. Joining a gym like Hybrid Fitness offers an excellent opportunity to expand one’s horizons, and we’ve already received numerous inquiries about lessons.
As time progresses, we will continue to learn and strive towards providing the best possible experience for our players. Onwards and upwards!”
